Devon
Devon, or also Devonshire, ist a county of England and lies in the south-west of Great Britain. It has two coastlines - one in the North and one in the South - of over 500 km length, which both have cliffs and sandy shores and their bays contain seaside resorts, fishing towns, and ports. Especially beautiful is the Jurassic Coast in the South, which shows exceptional rock formations and is protected as an „Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty“. Away from the coast, Devon is rather rural and hilly and owns the moorland of Dartmoor National Park, which is the largest open space in Southern England. The most notable towns in Devon are Plymouth, which is the biggest city of the county, and Exeter, which is the county town.
